We formed Northstar Wind Towers to assist the wind industry in getting through this next evolutionary step in wind turbine history.
We knew that we needed taller towers, thus larger base diameters. With larger base diameters comes a transportation problem that can only be solved by making smaller tower pieces which are re-assembled on site prior to installation. Because a friction connection is the most fatigue resistant type of connection used in steel construction today we are using this application in our wind towers. Taller towers = more power from today’s and future generations of wind turbines.
